The HOKA High Camp Challenge kicks off at the official start line of the Western States 100, guiding you up the iconic opening climb of this legendary course to High Camp. It’s a true taste of Western States—equal parts grit, community, and unforgettable scenery.

Due to high winds, the tram will NOT be operating on Friday. This decision was not made lightly. We worked closely with resort operations, and the safety of our participants, spectators, volunteers, and staff remained our highest priority throughout the decision-making process.

Course & Finish

Participants will still run or hike from the Western States 100 start line to High Camp. Please find a map of the course HERE. Since the tram is unavailable, all participants will need to run or hike back down the mountain after reaching the summit. A small finish area will be available at High Camp with water and light snacks before you begin your descent.

Post-Event Celebration
Our live band and complimentary breakfast have been relocated to the base area near the Western States 100 Start Line, HOKA FlyLab, and the KT Base Bar; where High Camp Challenge registration took place.
